The Cats Eye is an optical instrument for ESO, and is part of the Very Large Telescope Interferometer (VLTI). This system is built on top of the mountain Cerro Paranal in the Attacama desert in Chile. The delay lines, and in particular the Cats Eyes, make sure that the optical path length through telescope 1 and 2 from the incoming wavefront to the detector is identical to within 20 nm.
Six times per year, DSPE publishes Mikroniek. This is the only technological magazine from the Netherlands that focuses specifically on engineers and technicians working in the area of precision engineering.
In Mikroniek, articles are published which relate to aspects of precision mechanics and precision technology and the corresponding disciplines. Ones a year a special is issues considering the Precisiebeurs. Also, Mikroniek contains the news relevant to the field of precision engineering and the DSPE.
